Fishing

The waters around the Seychelles have proved to be very rewarding over the years due to its close proximity to the drop off. An abundance of pelagic fish including the Sailfish, Marlin, Tunas, Jacks, Wahoo, the Giant Barracuda and Rainbow Runner scours offshore in and among shoals of bait fish. Our skilled crew will provide you with guidance on fishing grounds and tackle. While game fishing offers some big rewards, fishing on the fly can be just as much a challenge!

Fly Fishing

Let us introduce you to what is regarded by some as the finest salt-water fly-fishing in the world. We will cruise to the outer islands, the low lying corraline groups provide fantastic flats. These islands and sand cays are unspoiled by man. The waters and flats surrounding these islands are home to a huge variety of sea-life including abundant numbers of bonefish, the main species targeted. African Banks and St Joseph islands are the two most popular islands to launch from. These two turquoise jewels are among the best bonefishing destinations in the world! Average size 5 to 7 Lb and 30 fish per day are common.

Game Fishing

Our crew will welcome you aboard for an exciting trip where memories await you. At sea we will target yellow-fin and dog-tooth tuna, wahoo, dorado, barracuda, skipjack, rainbow runner, trevally, green jobfish, sailfish and the mighty marlin. On board of one of our well equipped high performance boats and with guidance of our experienced crew a good catch is almost certain. In the recent years all our boats have always been among the best in the local fishing competitions, so you can easily participate in our knowledge of the local fishing grounds and maybe, make the catch of your life right here in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

Package 1 - 3 Days, 2 Nights

Day 1

The crew of Shamal awaits to welcome you onboard in the harbour of Victoria. Following a short introduction on the vessel and setteling in, we are about to leave for an approx. 1.30 h cruise to Silhouette island. After setting anchor at Anse La Passe you will have time to explore the small Village of Grand Barbe, the centre of Copra production in the early days. Alternatively you might like to discover the natural wonders of the under water world by snorkeling at Anse Mondon under the guidance of a crew member. Snacks and salads are available during the day on board and in the evening you will go to Silhouette Island Lodge for an unforgettable Dinner.

Day 2

After breakfast we lift anchor and cruise to the Island of Praslin, the second largest granitic island in the Seychelles with only 5,000 Seychelloise living there. After docking at Baie St. Anne Jetty, you have the opportunity to visit the Vallee de Mai, a World Heritage Site with it's unique Coco de Mer palms. In the afternoon you might like to relax on one of the world famous beaches or we go for a cruise off Cote D'Or, while in evening you might like to visit the Casino des Iles or enjoy an evening under the stars anchoring in a remote bay.

Day 3

We can spend this day cruising around the vicinity of Praslin with visits to secluded beaches on the smaller islands ( La Digue), depending on wind and currents. As an alternative we offer you to embark on our sport fisher 'CHILL OUT' towards the richest fishing grounds at the drop off, approx. 40 Miles to the North for an unforgattable game fishing experience. In any case you will be served lunch, snacks and beverages, and will finally arrive at Victoria harbor around 17:00 pm

Package 2 - 6 Days, 5 Nights

Day 1

Day 2

After breakfast we lift anchor and cruise to the Island of Aride, a granite island standing about 150 m above the sea. As a seabird's paradise, this island is a nature reserve. You will be taken on a guided tour and spend the rest of the day bathing and snorkelling

Day 3

This morning we lift anchor to cruise towards Curieuse, another nature reserve. You will be among the few privileged to set foot on this island as no regular ship serves here. Only a few families including the guardians live on Curieuse from fishing and agriculture. You will be taken on a guided tour through the tropical forest and have enough time to spend bathing and snorkelling in the bay. During May sea tortoises enter the bay and go ashore to lay their eggs.

Day 4

After a scenic cruise along the Cot d'Or of Praslin the second largest granite island in the Seychelles with only 5,000 Seychelloise living there. We are docking at the Bay St.Anne jetty and you have the opportunity to visit the Vallee de Mai, a World Heritage Site with it's unique Coco de Mer palms. In the afternoon you might like to relax on one of the world famous beaches or we go for a cruise off Cote D'Or, while in the evening you might like to visit the Casino des Iles or enjoy an evening under the stars anchoring in a remote bay like Anze Lazio, rated as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Day 5

Early morning we lift anchor at Bay St.Anne for a short 15 minutes cruise to La Digue. Only 2000 Seychelloise live here, and it has probably the most relaxed atmosphere of the three main islands. You can rent a bicycle and ride from beach to beach along the blocks of granite in fantastic rounded shapes, that are typical for the coast line. Or take walk through the lush vegetation and by chance you might see the Black Paradise Fly Catcher, a rare bird endemic to La Digue.

Day 6

We leave the waters around Praslin in the morning and on the way back to Mahe we make a short stop over on Fregat Island, a well known Island Resort among the demanding world travellers. Enjoy the exclusive atmosphere of this 5 star Hotel Island before a 1 hour cruise will finally bring you back to the Marine Charter jetty at Victoria Harbour on Mahe Island.
